When does a hotel need custom software?
Most single hotels with rooms and a small restaurant are well served by a subscription system, and we will say so if that is your case. Custom software starts to make sense when your operation does not fit the standard shape: party plots and banquets booked months ahead, several restaurants and kitchen stations, boardrooms sold by the hour, or several hotels under one owner. How is a custom hotel system built?

Ask who owns the system and the data, what happens if the developer is no longer available, and how backups work. Ask for a written scope and a phase-by-phase plan rather than one large promise. Ask how staff will be trained, how a problem is reported during a busy check-in, and what monthly support covers. A clear answer to these questions tells you more than a long feature list.
